I Get Paid to Grocery Shop and YOU Can Too

Hey y'all! It's summer time and we all know what that means...the kids are out of school and IN THE PANTRY always looking for snacks to eat. My boys seem to have bottomless pits. I found two very helpful apps and I want to help you save on groceries like I've been able to do for the last couple of months. I'll even start off by helping you get $10.00 added to your account.

If you're anything like me, you stand at the checkout line in the grocery store wondering what in the world caused your total to be as high as it is. I make my list (and check it twice) LOL! No, but seriously, it never fails, when I go to the store SOMETHING unnecessary "jumps" into my shopping basket. Even when I tell myself that I'm going to stick to my list. I try my best to shop once a week, usually on the weekends, because going to the store during the week for me is nearly impossible. I don't like standing in long lines after work---and cooking dinner late??? Ummm, that's just not me. I love to cook which is probably the main reason I pick up items that catch my eye, even when it's not on my list. Then, as I walk to the parking lot I wonder how I can start to save more money because my bill is just ridiculous! Sound familiar to you? ENTER the wonderful apps Checkout 51 and Ibotta!

I got this check:

and this gift card:

for purchasing products I buy on a normal basis. I wanted to share the info with all of you so you can start saving with me! ayyyyy! :) If you sign up using my code, you'll get $10.00 in your account. Yep, you read correctly, $10.00 just to sign up! No tricks, gimmicks, or anything. Once you get $20.00 you can let your account continue to build as you collect, redeem for PayPal bucks, or you can choose from several gift cards at some of your favorite stores and restaurants. I was so pumped about getting my first check and gift card when I was able to cash out, I immediately sent a text to my mom and sister to tell them to sign up. Truth be told, I suggested this to them when I first signed up, but they didn't listen!  Now, they are onboard.

Here's what you do for Ibotta:

1. Download the app Ibotta to your phone. Here's the link with my code :)

Check out Ibotta to get cash back! Use my referral code, FMPSOML, and you can earn an extra $10. Sign up at https://ibotta.com/r/fmpsoml

2. Grocery shop as you normally do

3. Find the items eligible for rebates that week

4. Upload your receipt (just follow the instructions on the app--it's super easy)

5. Scan the item barcodes for eligible items.

6. Once you reach $20.00 or more redeem for the gift card or PayPal deposit.

THAT'S IT! You are on the road to saving. Why not get paid to use products you already love?

Now if that wasn't enough for you, there is another app that is pretty similar to Ibotta. It's called Checkout 51. It looks like this:

Here is what you do:

1. Download Checkout 51:

2. Grocery shop

3. Look for eligible rebate items

4. Upload receipt

5. Request check once you reach $20.00 or more

t's the exact process as above for Ibotta except you don't have to scan the barcode on the items. (I think they're going to catch on and add this step eventually.)

So far, I've gotten over $40.00 in one month in rebates. Talk about motivation to keep me going. And guess what, y'all...not only do you NOT have to clip coupons to do this, you can use the same receipt for both apps. Here's a tip--BE CONSISTENT. I would have gotten my check and my gift card a lot quicker if I had been more consistent uploading my receipts when I first got the apps. You know how it is, you start off on fire, then that flame fizzles and you stop. Do it every time you grocery shop and you will start to see the savings and you can go shopping for FREE! :)

Now, what are you waiting for??? Go ahead and start saving...you can thank me later!

Let me know if you sign up and share this post with anyone you think could benefit from saving some money.

Until next time! Happy saving everyone!  :-)
