Do You Have a BUT?

Since I've released my novel, Impact, you can get your copy on Amazon or an ebook version HERE .I have felt a sense of relief. It's a long process and, honestly it's quite scary to put your thoughts and creativity out for all of the world to see. I have talked myself out of finishing my book so many times because of thoughts that no one would read it, or if they did, they wouldn't like it. Then, I thought BUT what if people do read it, like it, and learn from it...

I've noticed that many of the things I WANT to do are NOT usually done because of the BUT that follows. I notice myself saying things like "I want to write a blog post BUT I don't have time" or "I want to talk to ____ about _____ BUT I don't feel comfortable having that conversation". I am learning that sometimes having a BUT can stop us from being better. The word but, in any situation, turns it around. If you hear someone say "I was going to bring you some money but---" they don't even have to finish the sentence for you to know that you won't be getting the money they WERE going to bring you. I am learning to turn MY buts into BUT GOD. When I used to hear that phrase it seemed like it was dangling around for people to use and sometimes I think it still is. I think we can use it in a more powerful way to help us in our walk with God, and in life in general. Here are just a few scriptures I found that have BUT GOD in them that I plan to use:
Romans 5:8
BUT GOD has demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners he sent his son to die for us.
1 Corinthians 1:27
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
2 Timothy 2:9
...for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.
You may have expected a different type of post when you read the title BUT you were wrong. Lol. (I am on a roll here.) I am going to defeat my BUTs with God's. How are you going to get rid of your BUT? I would love to connect with you! Reach out via the comments, email, or social media! :-)

And, I hope you have a chance to check out the sample chapters of my new book, Impact by clicking the link that pops up when you get on my website--if you haven't already done so.
